BMW revealed BMW i3 and i8 concept car

BMW has revealed new BMW i3 and i8 concept car which is going to make its first debut at Frankfurt motor show in September.

The BMW i3 concept car is powered with electric motor over rear axle which generates output of 170 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The car is accelerated from 0-60 km/h in under 4 seconds and from rest to 100 km/h in less than eight seconds. The top speed of the car is 93 mph.

The BMW i3 concept car has four seats, boot capacity of around 200 litres, instrument panel and door panelling are made from natural fibers, naturally tanned leather seats, central information display monitor positioned above control panel for radio and climate system, 6.5-inch instrument cluster and traffic jam assistant.

The BMW i8 concept car is powered with electric motor adopted from BMW i3 Concept car at front axle, 1.5L 3-cylinder gasoline engine system which produces 220hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. The car is connected to twin speed transmission. The car is accelerated from 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds and top speed of the car is 250km/h. The car has large lithium ion battery which can be charged from domestic power supply can travel up to 35 kms on electric power.

The BMW i8 concept car interior has Porcelain White support structure, black technical level, section with Mocha Brown leather, air vents, control panels, full LED headlights, 3 dimensional air outlets, floating tail lights and 8.8 inch freestanding information display in dash joined with large display taking the role of instrument cluster.

Ford has revealed Ford Explorer EcoBoost details

Ford has revealed new details of the 2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost which is most fuel efficient 7 passengers SUV on the market.

The 2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost is powered with an all new 2.0L 4 cylinder EcoBoost engine system which produces 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The class leading fuel economy rating of the car is 20 mpg on city and 28 mpg on highway while the standard V6 engine system delivers 17 mpg on city and 25 mpg on highway.

The 2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost has combination of superior fuel efficiency and ample responsiveness which is enabled by direct gasoline injection and twin independent variable camshaft timing. The efficiency is enhanced through low friction 5W GF5 motor oil, variable displacement air conditioning compressor, electric power assisted steering and unique 6F35 six speed automatic transmission developed to reduce friction.

The 2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost features smooth vehicle shape, careful aerodynamic detailing like optimization of front air dam and rear liftgate spoiler lip and lightweight components such as an aluminum hood. The 2012 Ford Explorer Explorer is assembled at Ford Chicago Assembly Plant.

Mazda has revealed Mazda MX-5 sport and Mazda2 black car

Mazda has revealed the Mazda MX-5 sport black car and Mazda2 Black edition car for United Kingdom.

The Mazda MX-5 sport black car is powered with 2.0L 4cylinder engine system which produces 160hp. The car is connected to 6-speed manual transmission. The car is accelerated from 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds and top speed of the car is 136 mph. Cadillac announced upgrades for 2012 Cadillac SRX car

Cadillac has announced major upgrades for the 2012 Cadillac SRX car which is a midsize luxury crossover.

The 2012 Cadillac SRX car is powered with new 3.6L direct injected V6 engine system with 308hp. The car is connected to 6 speed HydraMatic automatic transmission. The car has more mass efficient design and driver selectable ECO Mode for optimal fuel economy.

Mercedes revealed Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition car

Mercedes has revealed the Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition car in Italy which is innovative, comfortable, safe and more attractive.

The Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition car is available with two diesel and two petrol engines. The Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition car is powered with 4-cylinder Biturbo diesel engine S 250 CDI produces 204 hp and fuel consumption of the car is 5.7L/100 km and the V6 diesel engine S 350 BlueTEC produces 258 hp and 620 Nm of torque. The CO2 emissions are decreased from 177 to 164gms/km.

The Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition car is powered with V6 petrol engine S 350 Blue efficiency produces 306 hp and 370 Nm of torque and the new 4.6LV8 petrol engine produces 435hp and 700 Nm of torque. The engine reaches its maximum capacity of recovery already at 1,800 rpm / min and remains constant up to 3,500 rev / min, with the best conditions for powerful acceleration and quick shots.

Chevrolet announced Chevrolet Cruze diesel car

Chevrolet has announced today that it will produce Chevrolet Cruze diesel car for North America in 2013.

The Chevrolet Cruze diesel versions are currently sold in Europe. More details about the car will be released later. The Chevrolet Cruze car in Europe is powered with 2.0-L diesel engine system which produces 148 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque.

The Chevrolet Cruze diesel car will bolster the already fuel efficient Cruze lineup. Cruze Eco with a standard six speed manual transmission is the most fuel-efficient gas-powered or non hybrid vehicle in United States with an EPA rated 42 mpg on highway.

The Chevrolet Cruze recorded total of 24,896 sales in United States in June, the fifth consecutive month sales have exceeded 20,000. The success of Cruze has increased Chevrolets total share of the compact car segment from 9.5% last year to 11.9% for the first five months of 2011 it was increased to 19%.

Smart revealed Smart ForTwo PearlGrey special edition car

Smart has revealed the new Smart ForTwo PearlGrey special edition car which is available with two different engines.

The Smart ForTwo PearlGrey special edition car is powered with 1.0L 3 cylinder inline turbo petrol engine system which produces 84hp. The car is also powered with 1.0L hybrid which produces 71hp. The car exterior has exclusive graphite metallic paintwork which forms an attractive contrast to silver tridion safety cell and the silver alloy wheels with a 3-double-spoke design. The mirror caps and radiator grille are also painted in graphite metallic and mirror triangles feature pearlgrey logos.

How to Determine Issues with an Oxygen Sensor

Many car issues are easy to determine but others are more elusive. Issues with an O2 sensor or Air Fuel Ratio Sensor can be extremely difficult to determine. Many a time the ECU will determine that the car is having an issue but when it comes to o2 sensors that issue may not be where the ECU says it is. More like the issue is being detected where the O2 sensor is.

When there is an issue internally with an engine the sensors are the first place that will show the signs of the problem. The reason for this is simple, all of the gasses leaving the engine pass these sensors and if there is excess fuel or burnt off oil it will be deposited on the oxygen sensor causing failure.   A failure of the o2 sensor will require replacement of the unit but it will also require the other issues to be fixed before the sensor is installed. If the other issues are not taken care of the o2 sensor is going to fail again and most parts suppliers will not warranty a part with foreign debris build up on the unit. Many times the issue that are causing the failure of the sensor and much larger than the electrical system many involve the fuel system or oil being burned off in the motor. A good example, when a turbo is failing it may send a large amount of oil though the engine and the left over burnt oil has to go somewhere after the ignition in the cylinder. The oil travels through the down pipe where it hits the sensor and not only gives a bad reading but also cakes on destroying the unit as well. These are just a few of the issues that can cause debris build up on the sensor and it is recommended by almost everyone in the car industry to take you to be inspected by a mechanic before buying parts like an O2 sensor.

How to Wire a New Fuel Pump

Installing any auto part can seem like a simple job until you have your whole car torn apart and realize everything is not right. Many a shad-tree-mechanic get the shock of their week when they pull out a fuel pump only to find the wiring to the fuel pump assembly is different than theirs. The first reaction is of course …rage, those sons of $^&*#^’s but this may not be needed. Most modern cars use similar set ups for fuel pumps or updated wiring harnesses that are a simple 5 min wiring job.

Now before you start any job it is essential for you to know that the job is not out of your knowledge range. Just keep in mind this is a machine that will be hurling you down the road at enormous speed. It is not a great idea to be guessing at how it works. So it must be said, if you don’t know how…let someone who does. Oh and don’t ever smoke while installing a fuel pump. When starting the wiring job, determine what colors your factory wires are from the factory harness.  Once you have them you can find a wiring diagram usually supplied by the fuel pump supplier or on their webpage under the help section.

Most new aftermarket and even OEM fuel pumps use a GT280 style electrical piggy back. This unit is a more efficient connection than the older units and has less heat that it creates. The connector was redesigned to reduce the risk of fire and will be easily wired in. Once the wire colors are matched up, attach the wires and use screw on covers to be sure there are no exposed wires. Exposed wires means the chance of spark, spark can mean fire and in the eternal words of Phil Hartman “Fire BAD”.

With the whole new pigtail wired in the installation process is as simple as clicking the new clip into place and lowering the assembly into the tank. Now turn the retaining ring on the pump to secure it and you are good to go. 

Shelby Supercars announced new car name Tuatara

Shelby Supercars the US supercar manufacturer has announced the name of its new car Tuatara.

The Shelby Supercar Tuatara will be powered with 6.8L V8 engine system which produces 1,350-hp. The car is accelerated from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and top speed of the car is 275 mph. So it is the fastest car in world after Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

The design specifications for Next Generation SSC were extreme we knew early on that a proper name would be a key piece of puzzle for this project said in a report by Jerod Shelby, Founder, Lead Designer and CEO of SSC.

The car name Tuatara was inspired by modern day New Zealand reptile that stands same name. A direct descendent of the dinosaur, this reptile's name translated from the Maori language means peaks on the back, which is quite fitting, given the winglets on the back of the new car. The Tuatara is very unique car with particular property of this reptile that immediately married it with SSC. The Tuatara possesses fastest evolving DNA in world and worlds greatest supercar manufacturers.

Ford revealed 2012 Ford Mustang GT Blue Angels edition

Ford has revealed 2012 Ford Mustang GT Blue Angels edition car for naval aviation to be sold at charity auction on July 28 at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.

The 2012 Ford Mustang GT Blue Angels edition car is powered with Ford Racing supercharged 5.0L V8 engine system which produces 624hp. The car has Ford racing components which include handling pack, performance exhaust and racetrack brakes.

Why is the Radiator Fan So Important

There are millions of people on the roads today and most of them understand the basic working of a car. The word “most” is the important part of that phrase. Most people know that a car is cooled by the radiator fan or the cooling fan but it may be shocking to know there are a good number of people out there that don’t. Knowing how a system works is the best way to avoid future issues with the car. It is also a great way to protect against failures that could have been prevented.

The cooling system in a car is very important to the operation of the car not just on hot days. The Cooling fan sits on the radiator at the front of the car and draws air across the unit to cool it down. The radiator works by spreading the coolant pumped from the engine across a large surface area where the heat can be dissipated. On a hot day the cooling ability of the radiator is compromised and the cooling fan is essential. When the cooling fan fails the amount of air traveling across the radiator is significantly decreased and the vehicle will overheat.

Internal combustion engines work by creating controlled explosions inside the cylinders which force the piston downward. Each of these explosions creates a lot of heat in the system and most of it travels out the exhaust of the vehicle. The metal in a motor will absorb heat and overheat unless the temperature is controlled in some way. Coolant is pumped into the motor through small passage ways in order to absorb the heat and cool the engine. This coolant is then pushed to the radiator where it is cooled and then pushed back into the motor. The process is very simple but can cause detrimental failure if stopped. When the cooling fluid cannot release the heat, it builds up to the point where the motor will no longer work. In some cases the heat can cause fires or internally damage the engine beyond repair.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing but in this case it is not. The more you know about your car, the more you can save yourself from a huge headache in the future.
