Buick officially revealed Buick Envision concept car

Buick the luxury car manufacturer has officially revealed the new Buick Envision concept car at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The Buick Envision concept car is powered with a plug-in electric hybrid system which provides unique high efficient performance for future hybrid technology. The 2.0-liter SIDI intelligent direct injection turbocharged engine is joined with a pair of electric motors that are located in the eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Buick Envision concept car features bold design with scissor doors, solar panel roof, 22 inch aluminum wheels, Italian leather seats, maple wood trim and metallic accents. The car interior features ice blue lighting, hidden air vents, 3D head-up display and an infotainment system with internet connectivity.

The Buick Envision concept car has lightweight chassis that is constructed out of carbon fiber, magnesium and aluminum. The car has active damping suspension and all-wheel drive system that changes the torque output of each wheel.

Buick officially revealed new 2012 Buick Regal Hybrid car

Buick the US car manufacturer has officially revealed the details of new 2012 Buick Regal Hybrid car.

The 2012 Buick Regal Hybrid car is powered with 2.4L 4-cylinder engine system with small electric motor that is powered by 115-volt lithium-ion battery and exclusively the engine produces 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque while the electric motor produces additional 15 hp and 79 lb-ft of torque.

The 2012 Buick Regal Hybrid car features eAssist system, engine start / stop system and aggressive fuel cut-off during deceleration. The car will get an EPA rating of 26 mpg on city and 37 mpg on highway which is 25% enhancement over standard 4-cylinder Regal car.

The 2012 Buick Regal Hybrid car has enhanced underbody aerodynamics and lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tires. The interior of car has eco minded air conditioner, improved instrument cluster, and infotainment system with 7-inch display.

The 2012 Buick Regal Hybrid car is going to make its first debut at Chicago Auto Show and price details of the car was announced later.

VersaTile Art Car by Big Al

"VersaTile" is 1971 Buick Centurion (455cu V-8) covered with over 600 pounds of ceramic tile and china plates and 100 caulk tubes of Silicone. Created by Al "Big Al" Bartell, this 5,200 pound behemoth is a mosaic masterpiece. Big Al spent six months carefully crafting "Versatile." 19 Donk Cars Covered in Candy Paint

Some time ago I posted a video about a cars covered in Cheetos and Doritos vinyl graphics, and the other day I found the ultimate Facebook car called a "Donk". I got some grief over it because one of my art car friends did not think it was considered an "art car". For me its a unique form of expression that deserves some face time here on Art Car Central. They also look like a lot of fun to drive around in so I managed to find 19 top corporate brand covered cars with famous cereal, snack and drink names. These "hi-riser" or "sky-scrapers" cars have gigantic rims ranging from 22" to 30"and extremely high ground clearance that resemble urban 4x4's,  are called "Donks". The term "Donk" came from the impala symbol on any Chevy impala from the year 1971 to 1976, because the symbol looked like a "donkey". It became popular in the south to cover these cars with name brands using vinyl car wrap technology. The most popular type of car used are Chevrolet models, namely the Impala, Caprice, Monte Carlo, and Chevelle. Other models that are frequently made into hi-risers include the G-body Buick Regal, Oldsmobile Cutlass, El Camino, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Pontiac Bonneville. Buick new 2011 Buick Excelle sedan caught uncovered in China

Buick the division of GM new 2011 Buick Excelle sedan car has been caught uncovered in China. The Chinese version car will be revealed at the Beijing Auto Show and the U.S. version will likely debuted next year. Buick recently revealed the Chinese version Excelle XT hatchback as badge engineered Opel Astra it seems entirely different than the Excelle sedan.

The details of the car are incomplete, power will probably be provided by a variety of four cylinder petrol engines. The car is powered with a 1.6-L engine system with 116 hp or 85 kW / 118 PS and 155 Nm or 114 lb-ft of torque, a 1.8-L engine system with 138 hp or 103 kW / 140 PS and 175 Nm or 129 lb-ft of torque, and a turbocharged 1.6-L engine with 180 hp or 135 kW / 183 PS and 235 Nm or 173 lb-ft of torque.

The car is based on the Opel Astra platform, the Excelle features a waterfall grille, distinctive headlights, hood-mounted porthole vents, and controversial taillights. Inside everything appears Astra-spec, except the badge on the steering wheel.
