Volvo the Sweden car manufacturer revealed the 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid car which is going to make its first debut at Geneva Motor Show.
The 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid car is powered with 2.4L 5-cylinder diesel engine system with 212 hp and 440 Nm of torque. The car is connected with 12kWh lithium ion battery which sends power to Electric Rear Axle Drive motor that produces 69hp and 200Nm of torque. The fuel consumption of the car is 1.9L/100 km, CO2 emissions are reduced to 49g/km and car can travel in electric power upto 50kms.
The 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid car has all wheel drive system in that the diesel engine powers front wheels and electric motor powers the rear wheel. The batteries are fully recharged in 7.5hrs through house charger and 3hrs with fast charger.
The 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid car will be available in three different modes Pure mode, Hybrid mode and Power mode for drivers. In Pure mode the car runs on electricity as much as possible. In Hybrid mode the default setting the car enables the engine and electric motor to work together. In Power mode the car has slightly added fasten than Hybrid mode.
