Audi revealed second e-tron car at 2010 Detroit auto show

Audi has revealed the second e-tron car at the 2010 Detroit auto show. The car is an alternative of the e-tron concept shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The second e-tron is actually 27 cm or 10.63 inches smaller in length and 12 cm or 4.72 inches slimmer and only 1 cm or 0.39 inch smaller in height. The weight of the car is 1,350 kg or 2976.24 lbs, which is 250 kg or 551.16 lbs less than the first e-tron.

2010 Audi e-tronThe car is powered with two electric motors which drive the front and rear axles. Totally they make 150kW or 204hp and 2,650 Nm or 1954.54 lb-ft of torque which can be freely varied between the wheels as required. The speed of the car is from 0 - 100km/h in 5.9 seconds and is limited to 200km/h or 124mph.

The lithium-ion battery is recharged in around 11 hours when it is fully empty or in 2 hours from a 400V source. An energy-recovery system is used to recoup wasted brake energy whenever the car's brakes are applied.

The car has one-frame grille with two large air intakes, LED lighting, Wheels are 19-inch size with a 35-spoke design, 235/35 tyres on front and 255/35 tyres at the rear. The MMI system is stimulated by touch-screen smart phones and communicates with the drivers cell phone from very long distances.
